  • Situated at the southern tip of Texas, Brownsville is uniquely positioned as a hub for international trade, approximately $15.6 billion worth of goods crossed in the Brownsville region in 2018.
  • Significant progress continues at the Port of Brownsville. For the third straight year, Foreign Trade Zone No. 62 (FTZ) at the Port of Brownsville ranks second in the nation for the value of exports. The Port also continues in negotiations with three Liquefied Natural Gas Plans (LNG). Two of the projects have already gained Federal approval, which is one of the final steps in the process. Once started, these projects represent mission of dollars of investment in the area and thousands of jobs.
  • Space Explorations Technologies or "Space X" is a fully private new launch facility for commercial satellites. Construction has been ongoing on a site 24 miles east of Brownsville. Brownsville will soon transform into a space hub and research center, creating hundreds of jobs and pouring millions of dollars into the local economy.
