Community Impact

CBL is committed to supporting our communities and the people who live in them. We understand that our malls are more than just shopping destinations; they serve as essential "gathering places" for the community through events and social interaction. Through a long-standing partnership with United Way, our employee-directed giving program, corporate charitable giving, matching gifts, and through donations of time, our team contributed approximately $177,000 to a wide range of organizations doing critical work in the communities we serve.

CBL's collective community impact through charitable giving and volunteerism in 2025 is valued at nearly $177,000.

In addition to our corporate-driven initiatives, our properties play an integral role in the communities they serve by partnering with area non-profits to raise awareness and funds throughout the year.

  • In 2025, West County Center in St. Louis, Missouri, hosted Gift A Meal. Guests to the property were able to contribute to Operation Food Search, a local nonprofit, by taking pictures of any meal purchased from participating mall restaurants. The project resulted in a total of 7,779 meals donated in 2025
  • Cross Creek Mall in Fayetteville, North Carolina, partnered with the Cumberland County School System to promote student artwork. The mall served as a gallery, displaying the creations of K-12 students for one week in late April and early May. The project garnered more than 1,500 social media views and demonstrated the value of community connection.

2026 Goals:

  • Increase the number of volunteer hours used by CBL team members.
  • Increase contributions to our United Way campaign.
  • Seek out new partnerships with organizations that align with our values.
